Its wide, oval profile wraps around the sides of the cylinders, positioning lift higher in the water column. The result is improved stability and a more balanced feel, even when diving heavy steel doubles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eTraditional straight-sided wings allow the gas bubble to shift from one end of the wing to the other as the diver moves between head-up and head-down positions. This movement can disrupt trim and create an unstable, “balancing on a knife-edge” feeling. By contrast, the Mariner’s curved design keeps the majority of the gas at the highest point—just forward of the cylinder midpoint—regardless of body position.
